Monday July 14th, 2003

Laffite Set for 24-Hours ChallengeFrench Formula One legend Jacques Laffite will drive Morgan's Aero 8 GT car in the Spa-Francorchamps 24-Hour race in Belgium later this month, it was announced today.

Laffite recorded six wins and 10 second places during a total of 176 Grand Prix appearances and he will join Neil Cunningham and Paula Cook in the Aero 8 GT car for the endurance race.

"We are really honoured to have Jacques Laffite behind the wheel of a Morgan," said Charles Morgan, managing director of the Morgan Motor Company. "This is a really exciting development for us, and I'm sure for all Morgan supporters worldwide.

"It is certainly the strongest and most intriguing driver line up we have ever seen in the Aero 8, and the car is looking in fantastic shape. Anything can happen in a 24 hour race, but I know that all the drivers and the whole team will give it their very best."
