Renault have been linked to a bid for Justin Wilson this weekend after his current team Minardi confirmed that two other outfits are interested in securing the Briton's services for next year.
Wilson has impressed many members of the paddock during his debut year in Formula One despite his back-of-the-grid status with the low-budget Anglo-Italian outfit.
Renault boss Flavio Briatore has close links with Minardi boss Paul Stoddart after schooling two of his contracted drivers, Spaniard Fernando Alonso and Australian Mark Webber, with the team in the last two seasons.
Stoddart is confident Wilson will be the third driver to move on from Minardi to greater things and insiders have suggested that both Renault and BAR-Honda are in talks with the Briton.
Neither team have confirmed the talks and Briatore joked at a rainy Silverstone earlier this weekend that it was "not the weather to discuss contracts at the moment" as he fended off questions over the Wilson link.
