FIA president Max Mosley is to assist London's bid to host the 2012 Summer Olympic games, the London Evening Standard newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Mosley, along with Formula One ringmaster Bernie Ecclestone, has pledged his support to London's bid and will become a major ally in the race to secure the hosting rights.
Lobbying at Formula One events across the world is banned under International Olympic Committee (IOC) rules following a bribery scandal in 1999. But the Evening Standard claim Mosley and Ecclestone can back the bid with their presence in sporting and political corridors before the final votes are cast by each individual country in 2005.
British prime minister Tony Blair's wife Cherie is already being used as an influential face to aid London's bid.
