Sauber drivers Nick Heidfeld and Heinz-Harald Frentzen have been making use of their enforced stay away from Europe by training in the heat and humidity of Thailand before next weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix.
The pair have been acclimatising to the conditions with intense training sessions on the island of Phuket.
They have been working out in the afternoon heat, with temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius, and team trainer Josef Leberer, once a fitness guru for the late Ayrton Senna, has praised the pair for their off-track efforts.
"They were very happy to see they were going to the beach but the bicycle tours have probably pleased them less," a joking Leberer told Swiss daily Blick. "But honestly, the boys are both very fit."
From Phuket, the pair will fly by private jet to Penang, in Malaysia, to join team sponsor Petronas, the Malaysian oil giant, for some pre-race promotions including a visit to one of Petronas' oil plants.
