Saturday October 25th, 2003

Alesi's License Confiscated by French PoliceFormer Formula One driver Jean Alesi had his driver's license taken by the French police after he was caught speeding in the south of France.

Alesi, now driving at the German touring cars (DTM) series having retired from Formula One two years ago, was stopped by the French police last weekend on the highway to Lyon, having driven at 190 km/h - 60 km/h over the speed limit, police said.

Alesi's driver's license was confiscated by the police, and he paid a fine of 750 euro ($900 USD).

With Alesi's license gone, his mother, who was riding with him, took over the driving.
