Formula One driver Jenson Button will marry his girlfriend Louise Griffiths, according to The Sun newspaper.

"We are both very happy as you can imagine and it's a terrific way to end what has already been a good year for us both," Button said on his website. "Louise and I have been together for over three years and we had talked about our longer term plans, so it was the right moment for me to propose.

"Fortunately she accepted! We are both extremely busy at the moment so there will not be too much time to celebrate with family and friends until later in the year, but we have lots to look forward to."

The 23-year old BAR driver met 26-year old Griffiths three years ago at a film premiere. Griffiths became well known when she entered BBC's Fame Academy television contest last summer.
