Minardi boss Paul Stoddart has refuted claims that he will negotiate the sale of his team on a stop-over in Italy before next weekend's Japanese Grand Prix.
Australian Stoddart, whose outfit have struggled to make ends meet this season, admitted he is talking to investors but he insisted suggestions he is on the verge of selling up are wide off the mark.
"People keep talking about driver changes at every other team at this time of the year and with Minardi they talk about team owner changes," said Stoddart. "We are looking for investment and we are talking to lots of people."
Reports credited to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claimed a group of businessmen from Northern Italy are in the final stages of a deal to take over Stoddart's shares in the team.
