Boris Yeltsin junior, the grandson of Russia's first president, has become marketing director of the new Midland F1 team, according to the Russian press.
Midland, owned by Russian-born businessman Alexander Shnaider, plan to make their Formula One debut in the 2006 season, using cars designed by Italian maker Dallara.
Twenty-three-year-old Yeltsin will help promote the team and will establish connections with foreign sponsors.
"Boris Yeltsin junior is the right man for this job, both by his character and talents," Aleksandr Radunsky, a managing partner of Shnaider, was quoted as saying by the Kommersant newspaper.
"Moreover, Boris Yeltsin is a brand, you can't help it. And his potential must be used."
