Pizzonia to Land Second Williams Test Seat

Monday January 26th, 2004

Pizzonia to Land Second Williams Test SeatBrazilian Antonio Pizzonia is set to return to the Williams team as their second test driver for the 2004 season, Atlas F1 has learned.

Pizzonia made his Grand Prix debut with the Jaguar team last season, but the Ford-owned squad replaced the 22-year old Brazilian before the end of his contract after the rookie had a torrid time in the first 11 races of the season.

On Monday sources told Atlas F1 that Pizzonia will be the Williams team's second tester for the 2004 season.

The young Amazonian had moved to Jaguar following a year testing for Williams. He tested again for the British squad last October, and Williams had admitted they were considering him for the second testing seat alongside Spaniard Marc Gene.
