Jenson Button is set to replace his manager with Jaguar Racing's current head of communicatios, Nav Sidhu, after the Contracts Recognition Board's decided in favour of BAR today.
The CRB concluded that BAR have a valid contract with Button for 2005, ruling against the Williams team, who wished to sign Button for next season.
Williams and Button believed they had a strong legal case, after Button's manager, lawyer John Byfield, had found a loophole in Button's contract with BAR that was believed to free him of contractual obligations to the team for the next season.
Button has been rumoured, for the past couple of weeks, to seek change of management and Atlas F1 has learned that Sidhu is now the likely candidate to become Button's manager.
Sidhu worked as a press officer at Williams in 2000, when Button made his Formula One debut with the team. The two have remained friends ever since, as Button moved to Benetton and then to BAR while Sidhu joined Jaguar Racing.
Sidhu survived in his role as head of communications at the Ford-owned team, despite frequent changes in the head management. But, with the Jaguar team now on sale and facing possible closure, Sidhu has been seeking a new challenge and will now apparently concentrate on managing Button's career.
None of the parties involved have yet to confirm the new arrangement.
