BAR to Use Alternate Livery for China

Saturday September 11th, 2004

BAR to Use Alternate Livery for China BAR-Honda said on Saturday that they will run another 'Radical Car' livery on their third car for the inaugural Chinese Grand Prix but refused to confirm it will carry 555 branding.

Part owners British American Tobacco currently use the team promote Lucky Strike cigarettes but with that brand unavailable in China they are keen to use the new race to give their 555 brand exposure.

As predicted by Atlas F1's The Weekly Grapevine , BAR are expected to unveil a blue and yellow liveried car for Briton Anthony Davidson to drive during the Friday practice sessions before returning the car to its standard livery for the rest of the weekend.

A 555 source confirmed that would be the case but the a team spokesman said: "We will be running a Radical Car livery in both China and Japan but will not spoil the surprise by revealing what it is yet."
