Renault driver Fernando Alonso has been named as the latest ambassador for the UNICEF Spanish Committee, working for children's rights.
The Spanish driver's role will call him to work actively for the promotion and defence of children's rights, as well as raising awareness of UNICEF's mission.
Alonso will be officially unveiled as an ambassador today following his test at the Barcelona circuit.
Alonso joins other prominent Spanish sportsmen such as NBA player Pau Gasol, footballer Eusebio Sacristan and former Tour de France winner Pedro Delgado.
