Formula One's return to Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya next week for testing looks set to be postponed due to the track lacking grip.
There has been no action at the Spanish circuit since the start of last December, when works to replace the 15-year old tarmac began. The works have been completed in time and a circuit official said the re-surfacing was successful.
The circuit, however, is still too dirty for Formula One testing, and it is believed the cars would be nearly 15 seconds off the pace if they tested next week, thus making the work irrelevant.
Although there has been no official announcement yet, it is believed both Michelin and Bridgestone are planning to advise their teams to cancel next week's test.
BAR, who unveiled their new car today in Barcelona, along with Ferrari, Williams, Sauber, Red Bull, Renault and Toyota were scheduled to test at the Spanish track next week.
