Rory Byrne will replace John Barnard as the chief designer at Ferrari. The South-African will team-up again with technical director Ross Brawn.

Barnard will continue running the factory in England. His plant will become an in-depended supplier to Ferrari. This has everything to do with the plans Ferrari has to have all it's facilities at their factory in Maranello (Italy)

McLaren going out of this world

McLaren motor racing team confirmed plans for a technical 'take-off' on Tuesday when they announced they were forming a five-year partnership with British Aerospace.

The Formula One team said they had agreed to share their technical expertise, particularly for design development, and would work together on a lot of development programs.

British Aerospace is Britain's biggest manufacturing exporter and exported more than 4.5 billion pounds ($7.4 billion) worth of goods in 1995. ($ - 0.611 British Pounds)
