- Jarno Trulli will be back in the Prost-Mugen during the next Grand Prix at Jerez, in car number 15. Prost always wanted to get Trulli back into the car after Olivier Panis got back and now he has succeeded in replacing Nakano. Nakano is looking for a Minardi seat.
- Argentinean Norberto Fontana will race for Team Red Bull-Sauber-Petronas on the occasion of the European Grand Prix in Jerez. The team's 22-year-old test driver will be standing in for Gianni Morbidelli who has not regained full physical fitness following his heavy accident in qualifying practice for the Japanese Grand Prix. Therefore, the Italian has to refrain from driving in Jerez. (Sauber-Petronas)
- Ron Dennis has been promoted at McLaren. He has become the chairman of the McLaren group. Martin Whitmarsh will now fill his technical director function.
- Flavio Briatore seems to be building a new company Fast Forward, which will be managing F1 drivers. Briatore already has Fisichella and Trulli under contract.
