Ferrari's Chief Designer, Rory Byrne, said that the 1999 car will be a continuation of this year's Ferrari F300. The unveiling of the 1999 challenger is due to take place in late January, in contrast to this year's car which was released in early January. "In 1998, we had new rules to adapt to so track-time was important and that is not the case so much this year. We can work on the car for longer without worrying how it will react on the circuit - particularly as we are developing a theme we know well," said Byrne.

Rosset upset at Pollock

An infuriated Ricardo Rosset, accused BAR Chief Executive, Craig Pollock, of destroying his reputation as a Formula One Driver. Rosset said: "Pollock completely shot my image as a driver. He has no more consideration for me than he would have had for one of his old shirts. I was never allowed to set the car up for my driving style." Pollock denied any wrong doing by saying: "He was always given the same treatment and the same equipment as his team-mate. I cannot understand what he is accusing me of."
