The Estoril Grand Prix has been deleted from the 1998 Calendar because it was clear modifications to the track wouldn't be ready on time. A possible replacement is China or South Africa. This decision will be announced soon.

The Belgium Grand Prix organisers have been given until February 15 to solve the tobacco ad problems.

Michael Schumacher is careful not to claim the new Ferrari a winner immediately. The new car has had its share of technical difficulties over the last couple of days, especially the new longitudinal gearbox. The tests have also been hampered by bad weather.

Schumacher said: "I was almost always driving with either intermediate tyres or wets and almost never with the 1998 tyres. The feeling is good, but it's too early yet to find out the car's true potential. For that, we'll need the 1998 tyres and dry conditions. We'll see if we can find out more about the F300 in the days ahead, but my initial judgement is that it's a very good car."
