Mugen-Honda have worked hard on their engine. The Jordan team had no reliability problems with the engine or any other real problems during last weeks testing at Barcelona (Spain). Ralf Schumacher stated that he was very happy but that the car could use work on the balance. Damon Hill was also delighted because of the way the car behaved.
A test session in Kyalami (South Africa) is off. The idea to test there was born a few months ago because it would be interesting to test the new grooved tyres under hot weather conditions. But Ferrari didn't want to go there and the smaller team immediately stated they were not in favour because of the cost shipping their team there. Now McLaren and Benetton have also stated they are not interested.
Ecclestone is not willing to give a testing licence for one team: Williams.
The New McLaren-Mercedes, the MP4/13, will be presented in Woking (England) on February 5. This car is expected to be real championship challenger with Adrian Newey on the team and the new Mercedes engine, which is smaller and lighter than last years.
