McLaren dominate first free practise (Brazilian GP)
Friday March 27, 1998
Summary
McLaren dominated today's free practice sessions but they were not even allowed to use their high-tech braking system. Team co-ordinator Joe Ramirez said: "As far as I'm concerned, our cars could race without the new braking system. Like this, everyone could see that the it's not the brakes that make the difference." Ralf Schumacher was third in the Jordan.
The hearing about whether certain braking systems used by teams are illegal or not is postponed until Saturday.
