Jacques Villeneuve has not made any decision yet about where he will be driving next year. His name always comes up when the new team BAR (British American Racing) is mentioned, but he could also stay at Williams.
"It has not even crossed my mind where I will drive next year. Everybody is concentrating so hard on getting this season going in the right direction there have not been any discussion on next year."
David Coulthard has declared that he will stay with McLaren in 1999.
BAR will not get enough support from the other teams to change the Tyrrell name to BAR. Most of the other teams don't like to see the historic Tyrrell name disappear.
Two computers were stolen from the Ferrari pits. The investigation has not lead to any conclusion on who or why they were stolen. Were they only interested in the computers or the programs on them.
Alain Prost has argued that refuelling is just too dangerous and has to be abandoned. Damon Hill supports him in this but Max Mosley doesn't feel the same.
