Jos Verstappen will replace Jan Magnussen at the Stewart team. Verstappen was asked to test for the team last week because they wanted to see if Verstappen could do a better job than Magnussen. Verstappen's lap times were not that great but the feedback was. He will first appear at the start for his new team during the next Grand Prix at Magny-Cours.

Verstappen said: "I am of course very pleased with the decision of the Stewart team. During the whole of this test session I co-operated very good and in a very positive way with the team. I already feel very much at home with the team. I already know a lot of the mechanics from my time at Arrows and Benetton and also driving Ford engines. Furthermore, I have a lot of faith in designer Alan Jenkins who I also know from my time with Arrows. Together with him we can work hard on improving an already very good car. Of course I am looking forward to my first Grand Prix this season, next weekend in France."
