The Minardi team have announced that they will stick with Ford for next season. They also announced that Cesare Fiorio will join them as their sporting director. Fiorio has worked for Ferrari and Forti Corse in the past and currently works for Prost.

Team boss Giancarlo Minardi stated: "We are delighted to continue our relationship with Ford. We are looking forward to gaining success together in 1999."

Minardi is currently working hard on the 1999 car. They have already had a successful windtunnel test with a half scale model.
