Prost Grand Prix have increased their involvement in Formula 3000 by taking over the Apomatox team.

The F3000 outfit benefited from a close relationship with Prost Grand Prix this season, but for 1999 Prost have purchased the team and it will be run as 'Gauloise Junior', a subsidiary company of the French Formula 1 team.

The team is intended to act as a training ground for drivers and mechanics who might eventually find their way into the Grand Prix team. Stephane Sarrazin and Andre Couto have been announced as drivers for next season.
