Today, the Fondmetal Minardi Ford Team officially presented its M01 which will make its debut in the World F1 championship which is about to start in one month now.

The event took place in Barcelona at the Torre Telefonica, which dominates the Catalan capital from the Monjuic uphill. The place was not chosen by chance; in fact the tower has become the symbol of the Spanish Company of communications "Telefonica", the main sponsor of Minardi's new young driver Marc Gene - 1998 Open Fortuna by Nissan champion.

The event was welcomed by Manuel Garcia Duran, one of the managers of Telefonica, who took the floor followed by the chairman of Minardi Gabriele Rumi, Gian Carlo Minardi and other representatives of the Spanish political world who didnt want to miss such an important moment for the national sport.

In fact, Spain hasn't had a F1 driver for 10 years, since when Luis Peres Sala competed in the races with the Minardi Team; he too attended the event together with Adrian Campos.
