It has been a while since the Dutch circuit Zandvoort staged a Formula One race, the last was held back in 1985, but the action may start again. The track has been lengthened from the old 2.900 km 'under a minute lap' to a modern 4.250 km circuit. This is the reason the FIA have granted a T1 license, this means Fomrula One teams are allowed to use the track for testing. There are however still some details concerning gravel traps that are standing in the way of a full Grand Prix license.
Max Mosley was very positive about the revised track when he visited it on July 1st. We will see if Formula One drivers also like the circuit on September 5th when the Williams team visit Zandvoort. Ralf Schumacher and Alessandro Zanardi will each drive about 20 laps in a Williams publicity and testing event.
