Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard are likely to stay at McLaren next year, according to Coulthard himself. Speaking to reporters at the Austrian Grand Prix, Coulthard revealed that he had been in talks with several other teams, but has decided to stay at McLaren, after talking to team boss Ron Dennis and Mercedes Sporting director, Norbert Haug.
"I have had contract talks with Ron Dennis and with several others, but I expect to be staying here with Mika next year," said the Scotsman. "I have talked to Ron and to Norbert and I trust them. We haven't signed a piece of paper yet, but I trust them and they have always done what they said they would do in the past. So, I have no reason to think anything other than that we will be back together again next year."
