Mika Salo continued with the work begun yesterday in preparation for the Hungarian GP on the Maranello track. There were no technical problems on the car and the entire programme was completed. He did a total of 112 laps with a best time of 1:02.272s.
Also present at the Ferrari home circuit today was Minardi's driver, Luca Badoer, who continued testing in preparation for the Hungarian Grand Prix following yesterday's afternoon initial day test. In the afternoon, Luca clocked his best lap time in 1:02.727 covering a total of 57 laps. The Italian driver found a good car balance which resulted in a performance 1.5sec better than the one he had obtained three months ago on the same circuit. The Minardi team said this is a further confirmation to the steady improvements of the M01 in terms of competitiveness and driveability.
Tomorrow, testing continues at Fiorano with Eddie Irvine for Ferrari and Badoer for Minardi.
