Thursday November 11th, 1999 Rally Champion Colin McRae said yesterday he does not plan to switch to Formula One, although he is expecting to take an F1 car for a test drive. "I'll stick with what I know," McRae told Reuters News Agency. "I wasn't thinking of going to Formula One, it was just really a bit of PR for Ford, to make a bit of a story about a rally driver driving in Formula One," he said. Ford said last March that they are interested in letting the Scot give Formula One a try, and were anxious in getting him a test drive. Yesterday, McRae said a one-off drive in a Formula One car was still possible although the changes at Stewart, with Ford having taken over the team in June and renamed it Jaguar for next season, meant that he could not say when it might happen.
