Alain Prost has been chosen as the greatest motor sports driver of the century, at the "World Sports Awards of the Century" at Vienna, Austria.

Prost received his award in a special ceremony on Friday, along with Muhammad Ali (greatest martial arts athlete), Pele (the soccer award), Steffi Graff (tennis), Michael Jordan (basketball), swimmers Dawn Fraser and Mark Spitz and Carl Lewis (athletics).

The members of the jury that selected the winners included FIA president Max Mosley, as well as the International Olympic Commitee president Juan Antonio Samaranch, Prince Albert of Monaco and FIFA president Sepp Blatter.
