Thursday April 20th, 2000 Royal Dutch/Shell Group said on Thursday it had extended its Formula one motor racing alliance with Ferrari, this year's top performing team. The new sponsorship, technical support and fuels and lubricants contract runs until the end of 2005, Shell said in a statement. The Shell logo will continue to appear on Ferrari nose cones and the deal also includes on-pack Ferrari endorsements for selected Shell products, and a set of new TV commercials and forecourt promotions aimed at raising awareness of the partnership. Shell and Fiat-owned Ferrari were Formula One partners from 1950 to 1973 and revived the partnership in 1996.
