After a disappointing test last week - when fog stopped Jaguar Racing from doing any serious running - Eddie Irvine said he was delighted to have had so much time in the new Jaguar R1. he completed 75 trouble-free laps on the National circuit at Silverstone today, his quickest lap was 44.35s - more than one second quicker than Johnny Herbert's best time from last week.

Jaguar were the only team testing at the Northamptonshire circuit and they concentrated on systems development and reliability tests for most of the day. The team will also be at Silverstone tomorrow (Thursday), when Jackie Stewart will be on hand to oversee the test.
