Saturday June 3rd, 2000 McLaren chief Ron Dennis repeated his criticism of the facilities at the Monaco Grand Prix on Saturday, saying the organisers of what is one of the top Formula One races in the calendar should bring the infrastructure up to date. The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the most dramatic with a circuit weaving through the town, perched high above the bay, jammed with luxury yachts. But the fact that the race is run through the streets means that the facilities are temporary unlike at other venues with purpose-built tracks. "We bring a lot of money into the principality so you would think they could provide us with a better pit lane complex," Dennis said after the qualifying session in which the two McLarens came in third and fifth. "It's all a bit third world," Dennis added. He brushed off suggestions that Monaco had had its day as a Formula One venue, but he said there was room for improvement. "We treasure Monaco for what it is. They just have to get to grips with that particular problem," he said.
