Rubens Barrichello clocked the fastest time ahead of team mate Michael Schumacher as Ferrari dominated the morning warm-up for Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix.
Barrichello recorded a best lap of 1:22.521, just five-hundredths of a second better than pole-sitter Schumacher's time.
The world championship leader, who will be seeking his 40th career victory, was in turn two-tenths of a second faster than his brother Ralf Schumacher in the leading Williams with David Coulthard fourth in the top McLaren.
Jarno Trulli, who will start the race from second position on the grid in his Jordan alongside Michael Schumacher on the front row, was fifth fastest.
Defending world champion Mika Hakkinen, who qualified only a disappointing fifth for the race, was sixth in the second McLaren.
Jenson Button, 20, continued his impressive form in his maiden Monaco Grand Prix by clocking the seventh-best time in the second Williams.
