Thursday June 8th, 2000 Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya will replace 20-year-old Briton Jenson Button in the Williams team next year, Autosport magazine reported on Thursday. "Williams bosses Frank Williams and Patrick Head are believed already to have decided to bring the Colombian back from the USA to partner Ralf Schumacher next season," the British magazine said. "In practice, Montoya is already sure of the seat. Williams is expected to put the finishing touches to the deal this week, according to one source." Montoya, a former test driver for Williams, won the Indianopolis 500 on May 28. Williams have consistently declined to comment on their driving line-up for next season.
