Wednesday June 14th, 2000 Ralf Schumacher's chances of driving in the Canadian Grand Prix are improving, according to WilliamsF1 media officer, Nav Sidhu. "The situation has improved considerably since last week, and it looks likely that he will be competing," commented Sidhu. "He is due to be examined by Sid Watkins tomorrow, and he will then be declared either fit or unfit to race." Schumacher suffered an ugly three-inch gash to his left calf after crashing into the barriers at Sainte Devote in the Monaco Grand Prix. Since the time of his injury, Schumacher has spent time recuperating at his Monaco home, leaving test-driver Bruno Junqueira to take over duties at Monza. In the unlikely event of Schumacher being declared unfit to race, Junqueira will step in.
