Wednesday June 21st, 2000 Johnny Herbert has attacked Jaguar claiming a lack of progress after another poor result on the weekend. Herbert has suffered car problems in several races this season, and was the first retirement in last weekend's Canadian Grand Prix when he suffered a gearbox problem. Speaking in today's Motoring News, Herbert said: "The car is almost exactly the same one as we had in Melbourne. There has been almost no development at all and I am not aware of any more coming. "Cosworth are bringing out a new engine in time for Austria but that's it. All we have done this year is get on top of engine reliability problems, but we're still having everything else break. "Really this team is still Stewart. Jackie and Paul have gone, but that's it. This is still a small team - if you look at Stewart's history it was all crap apart from last year when they lucked into a good car." Herbert's strong words suggest he knows his days at Jaguar are numbered, and it is possible he may not last until the end of the season. Herbert himself has suggested he may be racing in the Champ Car series in the future.
