Saturday June 24th, 2000 Mika Hakkinen was fastest in testing at Magny-Cours yesterday. Hakkinen was just two-thousandths faster than Rubens Barrichello around the Magny-Cours circuit, which saw most of the eleven Formula One teams continue testing. Both Ferraris were testing yesterday, with Rubens Barrichello just missing out on the fastest time of the day during his 86 laps which passed without any problems. Both Barrichello and Michael Schumacher tested tyres, with Schumacher setting a fastest time of 1:15.895 despite at one stage stopping his car due to a problem with the engine, which was replaced before Schumacher returned to the circuit. Jordan completed their testing with both drivers setting almost identical times, as both drivers continued working on set-up for the upcoming race, Heinz-Harald Frentzen completing 86 laps with a best time of 1:15.993, while Jarno Trulli completed 58 laps which included an engine change setting a best time of 1:16.059. Arrows continued with Pedro de la Rosa while Verstappen continued his recovery. de la Rosa ran 83 laps which enabled him to run through the maximum amount of race set-up data, involving tyre evaluation, aerodynamic testing and chassis set-up. The team were pleased with the results that they and de la Rosa were able to achieve. Yesterday's times:
