Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has praised his world champion driver Michael Schumacher after what the Italian considered one of the German's finest wins with the Maranello team.
Schumacher led the European Grand Prix from start to finish to score his fifth victory of the season in front of his home crowd, something that allowed him to extend his lead in the championship to 24 points over his closest rival David Coulthard.
Di Montezemolo believes Schumacher's 49th career victory - which was also Ferrari's 140th - was one of the best drives from the German since he joined the Italian outfit back in 1996.
"I reckon that yesterday's was one of Schumacher's best ever wins with Ferrari," said di Montezemolo. "Of course, winning in Germany on our main competitors' home turf is even more satisfying and motivating.
"Now we really have to concentrate, especially when it comes to reliability and the start procedure. This latter did not work too well yesterday and while Michael managed to maintain his grid position, unfortunately, Rubens was unable to do the same."
