As expected, Arrows finally announced today that Tora Takagi will be driving for the team in the 1999 season, rather than Finland's Mika Salo. In a statement made today, Arrows spokesman said that the decision to release Salo was taken after 'lengthy meetings between the driver and team management'.

Takagai will drive alongside Pedro de la Rosa. "He will no doubt become an exciting addition to the team," said the Arrows spokesman.
