In the pole position press conference yesterday, Michael Schumacher looked very embarrassed when he was accused of driving in a dangerous manner from his hotel to the track.

What transpired eventaully was that Schumacher in fact has been racing against Jacques Villeneuve. "It's true", said Schumacher yesterday, "that Jacques and I left the hotel at the same time and we arrived at the circuit at the same time. But I don't think that we drive exceptionally different from the way the Hungarian people do here anyway." However, regardless of what Schumacher said, it was the Canadian who won, actually...

Nevertheless, the whole incident was particularly embarrassing for the German as he is supposed to be championing the road safety campaign on behalf of the FIA. To make amends, Schumacher offered the journalist who asked him about the incident, a lift from the hotel to the track on race morning.
